Frequently Asked Questions

VibeLux is an all-in-one platform for controlled environment agriculture (CEA). It brings lighting design, energy analysis, cultivation and operations management, environmental monitoring, food-safety and compliance tools, field scouting, and analytics into one integrated system instead of a pile of disconnected spreadsheets and point tools.

Indoor farm operators, greenhouse managers, vertical-farm engineers, lighting designers, and consultants — anyone running or designing a controlled-environment growing operation who wants to plan it properly and operate it from one place.

Indoor rooms, greenhouses (including gutter-connect, Venlo, Quonset and gothic-arch structures), vertical farms, and research labs. It is multi-crop — leafy greens, fruiting crops, herbs, microgreens, strawberries, cannabis, and more — with crop-specific PPFD, DLI, and photoperiod targets built in.

No. VibeLux runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install or maintain. It is also mobile-responsive, so you can use it on a phone or tablet in the greenhouse.

Create an account, set up your facility, and open the Designer — its guided setup walks you through facility type, room dimensions, crop, growth stage, and light targets, then drops you into a working design. From there you can add fixtures, read your PPFD/DLI, and branch into the operations tools.

Yes. There is a free tier you can use right away, a demo mode that lets you explore the platform with sample data, and paid plans include a 14-day free trial. You can also contact us for a guided walkthrough of your specific use case.

VibeLux is in early access ahead of general launch. The core tools — the lighting designer, calculators, and operations features — are live and usable today; some advanced and enterprise capabilities are still being rolled out. We would rather tell you that plainly than overstate where we are.

You define your room, place fixtures (or let the tool auto-array them to a target), and the photometric engine computes PPFD across the canopy, DLI for your photoperiod, uniformity, light-power density, and energy/operating cost — so you can compare scenarios before buying any hardware.

A library of 1,300+ active DLC-qualified horticultural fixtures with real photometric data (the full 2,436-entry QPL snapshot is searchable; delisted models are hidden by default). You can also import your own fixtures from IES or DLC files if your manufacturer is not already in the library.

Yes — set real dimensions and structure type, and for vertical farms you can model multi-tier racks and carts with per-canopy light levels, including inter-canopy fixtures. There is a 3D view and false-color PPFD visualization to see coverage at a glance.

Photometric/IES output, plan sets, and branded PDF reports with the PPFD maps, fixture schedule, and energy summary — the kind of deliverable you can hand to a client, an electrician, or a lender.

Yes. Designs include connected load, light-power density, and projected energy/operating cost. We show these as engineering estimates from your inputs and fixture data — not guaranteed savings.

There is one designer, and every user gets the full toolset — fixture and IES libraries, zone management, spectrum tools, advanced 3D and PPFD mapping, and professional export are all included. There is no separate "advanced designer" to upgrade to.

There is a free tier to start, paid plans from $29/month, and a custom Enterprise tier for larger operations. See the pricing page for the current plans, what each includes, and per-seat options.

The free tier lets you use the core designer and calculators with limits on things like the number of saved rooms and fixtures. It is meant for trying VibeLux and small projects; paid plans raise those limits and add team, integration, and reporting features.

Plans are billed monthly, with annual billing available on most tiers (typically at a discount). Some plans are priced per seat for teams. Enterprise pricing is quoted based on your facilities and needs.

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your account — there is no long-term lock-in on self-serve plans. Enterprise agreements follow whatever terms you sign.

Annual billing is discounted versus monthly on most plans. For multi-site or enterprise deployments, contact us for volume pricing.

It is built to work alongside your existing infrastructure: data import from common sensor systems, connections to building/facility management systems (BMS), utility data for energy analysis, and a REST API for custom integrations. You do not have to rip out hardware to use it.

Yes — VibeLux has a REST API (authenticated with an x-api-key header). The full, live reference is at /api-docs, rendered straight from our OpenAPI spec so it stays accurate.

Yes. Bring fixtures in from IES or DLC files, and import operational/sensor data in standard formats. Your existing fixture cut sheets and sensor exports do not go to waste.

Yes. You can export your cultivation records, energy reports, designs, and operational data in standard formats like CSV and PDF.

Yes. Your designs, records, and operational data are yours — you can export them at any time, and we do not sell your data.

No special hardware is required to design, plan, and run reports. For live monitoring you connect your own existing sensors and controllers; VibeLux reads from them rather than replacing them.

Beyond design: cultivation and harvest planning, environmental monitoring, energy management, field scouting with geotagged photos, a facility field map for issues and IPM, workforce tools, and multi-site management for operators running more than one facility.

Yes. You can monitor and track conditions like temperature, humidity, VPD, and CO₂ by connecting your sensors, and tie them back to crop targets and outcomes in analytics.

Yes. There are food-safety audit workflows aligned to common frameworks (HACCP, GAP and similar) to help you prepare and document. VibeLux is a tool to organize your program — it does not itself certify your facility.

VibeLux supports cannabis cultivation workflows as a first-class crop. Direct seed-to-sale/track-and-trace integrations (e.g. METRC) for regulated markets are on our roadmap rather than shipping today — ask us about timing for your state.

Yes. The platform is mobile-responsive, and the field tools let workers capture geotagged photos of issues and IPM tasks and pin them to your facility map so managers can see where attention is needed.

Yes. Team plans add multiple users with roles, and enterprise multi-site management lets you oversee several facilities from one place.

VibeLux uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our infrastructure runs on cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Vercel) that hold SOC 2 Type II certifications for their platforms. A VibeLux-specific SOC 2 audit is on our enterprise-readiness roadmap.

On established cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS and Vercel). We do not run our own data centers, which lets us inherit the physical and platform security of providers that specialize in it.

Yes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data — contact support and we will process it. You can export anything you want to keep first.

Yes, on team and enterprise plans. You can invite multiple users and assign roles so the right people have the right access to your facilities.

All plans include email support. Higher tiers add priority support with faster response times, and Enterprise customers get dedicated account management and onboarding assistance.

Reach out from the contact page and a real person will get back to you. If you are evaluating VibeLux for a specific facility, mention the details and we will tailor the walkthrough.
