What it does

A CO₂ enrichment calculator that estimates the daily mass of CO₂ needed to raise a room from its current level to a target ppm. It also estimates the cost of supplying it.

When to use it

Use it to size CO₂ supply and compare running costs for tanks, a natural gas burner or a CO₂ generator. It accounts for room volume, air exchange rate and daily operating hours.

How it calculates

CO₂ deficit (ppm) = target − the higher of current and outdoor (420 ppm), capped by a crop and light-adjusted limit. Mass = deficit × 1.80 kg/m³ ÷ 1,000,000 × room volume.
Hourly need = air-exchange loss (fill mass × ACH) + plant uptake + 10% leakage
Daily need = initial fill + hourly need × operating hours, divided by the enrichment method's efficiency
Daily cost = daily lbs × CO₂ cost per lb + monthly maintenance ÷ 30
